Parliamentary Style English Debate Competition

On the 16th of April 2009, Syed Hassan's debaters were challenged by SMK Teknik Kangar for the Tan Sri Datuk Wira Abdul Rahman Arshad Trophy on the Perlis northern zone competition held at SMK Padang Besar Utara. The debaters; Saedah Zakirah bt Zul Azhar as the first speaker, Nur Hafizh b Abd Hamid as the second, and Abirami a/p Kalaiselvan as the third; were elected as the government with the debate topic 'students should be encouraged to take part time job'. The debaters were confident and the battlefield was conquered but only luck was not on their side. Although a little bit disappointed with the result, the debaters promised to try harder the next time. Actually there is an advantage to our school since most of the debaters are still in form 3.
